Volunteer event adds digital aspect

Last weekend I was a volunteer at Comcast Cares Day. While an army of volunteers and Americorps workers helped clean up Magnuson Park in Seattle, I participated in the Voluntweetup portion of the event.

About a dozen of us were set up in the media tent, where we were paired up with leaders of nonprofit groups who were looking for information and advice about how to incorporate social media into their work.

It was a lot of fun and I’m sure the group leaders went back to their organizations with plenty of ideas for integrating social media into the good they do every day.
